Roll It Up Ice Cream

How do you make an ice cream shop’s website look professional, without losing its vibrant & casual core? Focus on a strong user experience and underlying structure before adding the fun treats.

Roll It Up Ice Cream

Roll It Up Ice Cream is the southeast United State's first rolled and liquid nitrogen ice cream shop. They wow sweet lovers looking for an exciting way to enjoy their frozen treats, in over a year of operating.

As a frequent customer looking for any chance for Roll It Up to shine design-wise, I felt joy when their co-founder, Tony Garcia, reached out to me. They wanted a more efficient website — one that both customers and potential franchisees could look at while retaining their vibrant core.

A Sweet Challenge

While collaborating with Tony on this project, I began with an audit of the existing site. This determined what was working and what needed improvement.

Simplifying for Users First

We noted that the previous site had nice pictures of Roll It Up's ice cream and their contact form often. With this in mind, we decided to clean the site up a bit.

We defined three (3) customer goals: gaining franchise info, finding nearby stores, and choosing the dessert they want.

Sweet Results

Roll It Up’s website relaunched in March 2018.

After that, visitors easily find what they need, whether it's dessert or business-related. Pageviews increased by 64% and user sessions 82% compared to the previous month.
